Thomas Hall is a licensed general contractor and Realtor based in Portland, Oregon, with over 13 years of hands-on experience in home remodeling, permitting, and residential real estate. As the RMI and co-owner of H&C Design-Build LLC, Thomas has personally overseen numerous residential remodels, renovations, and landscape transformations across the Portland metro area — pulling and managing permits through the City of Portland for everything from structural upgrades and bathroom remodels to kitchen overhauls.
Thomas is known for his meticulous approach to planning and code compliance, and for helping homeowners and investors navigate the often-complex permitting and inspection process with confidence. His in-depth understanding of zoning, site conditions, and building requirements allows him to troubleshoot issues before they arise — saving clients time, money, and stress.
In addition to his construction background, Thomas is a highly producing licensed Oregon Realtor, offering clients a rare combination of real estate market insight and construction know-how. My career journey has been quite a unique one, a blend of family tradition, military service, and a deep commitment to caring for others. From the age of ten, I was immersed in the world of construction, working alongside my father in a 96-unit building in Queens, NY. This early experience instilled in me a strong work ethic and a deep understanding of the industry.
After high school, I served in the Army, where I developed discipline and a strong sense of responsibility. I served our country for ten years, ending my military career with an honorable discharge at the rank of Sergeant - E5. Following my military service, I pursued a fulfilling career as a nurse. For the past 27 years, I've been blessed with a wonderful family – my wife and our nine children – while simultaneously providing compassionate care to Veterans.
Now, I've returned to my roots in construction, combining my decades of experience in both healthcare and building trades. I approach each project with a client-centric philosophy, drawing on the principles of empathy and trust I learned as a nurse. My goal isn't just to complete a renovation or repair; it's to build a collaborative relationship with my clients, understanding their needs and exceeding their expectations.
