Windows and siding are the same wall, so they are the same job more often than not. Pulling a window is the moment you find out whether the sheathing behind the siding is dry, and replacing siding is the moment to correct flashing that was never right at the openings.

Siding failures are rarely cosmetic. Water gets behind a cracked board, soaks the sheathing and works on the framing quietly for a season or two before anything shows. So we pull a board and look before quoting, because that check decides between a repair and a replacement.
